Element <pbs:mp>

This is a complex type of element.

A Medicinal Product (MP), a.k.a. a "generic" drug. This is often an MP in the AMT, but in some cases may be a class of products that is not included in the AMT, for example foods.

This element may reference terminology concepts from the (http://snomed.info/sct) class of concepts.

This element may reference terminology concepts from the Legacy Drug Concepts (http://pbs.gov.au/Drug/MP) class of concepts.

The Snomed CT concept identifier. The coding scheme is given in the type attribute. A Snomed-CT code is usually allocated by Nehta for concepts in the AMT. These are indicated by a scheme attribute value of http://snomed.info/sct/32506021000036107 (or http://snomed.info/sct/900062011000036108 for AMT prior to its inclusion in SNOMED-CT-AU). Otherwise the code is allocated by Department of Health, in which case the scheme attribute value will be http://snomed.info/sct/911000144106. A PBS "generic" identifier may also be included. PBS-specific generic identifiers use the coding scheme http://schema.pbs.gov.au/Drug/MP.
